CPU fans = unreliable?

It?s only been a year and one month, and the second HSF on my ?Right Hand? (see my rigs) system is going bad. While the sticker on the top of the fan is off-brand, looking at the bottom reveals that this fan is actually a Sonon fan ? which is apparently what Alpha uses on their PALs as well (and I?m considering replacing with a PAL 8045). So, is it normal for my fan to start getting really noisy (possibly bad ball bearings) suddenly after about 6 months of use? What?s going on here? How can I make sure that it?s just not a strange vibration issue?
Thanks.
--- EDIT ---
I tightened the screws on the fan, and it?s stopped vibrating? so, just out of curiosity, what is the LE of a fan?

Life expectancy of ball bearing fans are usually something like 50-60 thousand hours. Check Sunon's website and see if they say it there.
