speedfan, i dont have a link, but search for it and you may be able to control it with that if your mobo is supported.

you can decrease the speed by reducing the applied voltage (Rheostat). But if you try to increase the speed by raising the voltage (which is the only way a speed increase could be accomplished) you will burn out the motor windings (unless your increase was so small as to be insignificant anyway).

PS: only effective way I know to increase the speed of a fan........ is to replace it with a faster fan.
