Greetings everyone,

Thanks to the suggestions from everyone about the noise from my fan in a previous post, I determined that it is the motherboard fan on my ASUS that is making the noise. Where can I get a replacement for that fan? I am so happy I don't have to send back my processor!!!
The fan runs just might not longer. Also if I wanted to be serious about cooling my Athlon, I was thinking about purchasing a copper spacer, arctic silver II, and using my current hsf. The copper spacer won't crack my processor will it?

I appreciate that everyone has been so helpful and now know what it is to be an AMD user!!!

Why do you need a copper spacer?

And just take off the Northbridge fan. It doesn't need it.

I never seen the a7v133 but if the fan is anything like the kt7a, I wouldnt take it off. Besides the northbridge on other motherboards like the iwill seem to have a bigger heatsink. If you plan on taking off the fan maybe put in a bigger heatsink than the one it comes with for the northbridge? Also the copper spacer does not help cool your cpu, why would you put that on? The arctic silver II will help, but what heatsink are you using anyway? Changing the heatsink will do more good than adding a copper spacer if you want better cooling.
