I have a Asus P4P800 E Deluxe and when it boots a voice message comes across speakers that says:

"CPU fan failed"

I have a Zalman 7000 CPS-Al Cu that is plugged into the motherboard fan header for the CPU fan and the fan is turning at about 1400rpms. I think the board is detecting it running too slow.???

Could I turn off this audio alert???

Thanks

Y

My board (MSI KT3) sounded an alarm once when the fan was spinning too slow but nothing was wrong with the fan, it was just being quiet. Not sure if it's just the setup, or you need to RMA. My board has been with me for a while.

It thinks your fan is running too slow but you're fine since that heatsink fan is designed to run slow. Turn off POST Reporter in the BIOS.
