i booted to windows xp and after like 5 min cpu rebooted itself....
i booted back to windows started NAV cpu rebooted itself....
i booted back to windows started/completed NAV, all clean....
launched game 5 min later game crashed....
same as above...

when i get home i was gonna try and do a memtest which lead me to my first post on which memtest to use but thinking about it i remember doin a memtest when i first purchased sys. last year and had some errors but everything ran fine until last night.

only thing different is that i moved my desk to the other side of the room, so i know its not something like i was messing around in the case causing it to do what its doin...

any suggestions other than running memtest again....

also ran fine for an hour or so before i just turned it off for the night with nothing running/no load, just sat at desktop

More than likely, it might be one of the following (if we discount software problems):
Heat
cheap psu
dodgy RAM

You might want to make sure that there is enough ventilation - is the exhaust from the fans hot?
What psu is in the box?
Can you run the latest ver of memtest http://www.memtest86.com/#download0

memtest passed through tests twice

have a (guessing generic psu) turbo link 420w

for some reason my cpu has decided to work flawlessly even though all i did was run memtest a bunch of times. Thanx for your help
