Hi.
I installed a 120 radiator in my chase with 2 fans cooling it, and having temp. around 62 degredes Cellsius at 3:rd core.

I Think that is a bit high for watercooling. BTW Intel Core i5-3450 @3.5 is my cpu.

Could it be that it is not mounted complete flat on the CPU? I understand thats pretty important from what I read.

If its a thin 120mm radiator, it won't differ much than your standard aftermarket air cooler in terms of load temps. That being said, watercooling isn't a miracle cure if your ambient temps are just as high. I wouldn't buy AIO units that doesn't come with at least a double thickness 120mm radiator or a 240mm radiator.

Nothing to worry about though as 62C is pretty decent and still far from its rated TJmax.

shoure thing its not a threat :). But i want to run it around 4-4,5 GHZ. Its the thicker rad from CoolerMaster. I know its gonna be ok even for that.

But i was just courious couse ivé seen a lot lower temps on these things.

I got this temp at standard setting on 100% for 1 hour and stable. 8GB ram

Sorry if my English is bad :)

You cannot overclock a Core i5 3450 to 4.5GHz like you would with a Core i5 3570K or a Core i7 3770K. There is a clear distinction of that the K series are capable of overclocking while the rest are not possible except for the 4 speed bin trick which isn't the same as a standard overclocking procedure.

62C at its highest isn't a problem as the variation of temps from one core to another in IB varies a lot, anywhere from 4-7C difference. The fluctuation in SB is far more consistent, probably due to the solder being used under its IHS.
