CPU Coolers

I posted this in the wrong forum before, so I put it here instead. So, I was wondering if anyone had advice on which is the better C2D CPU cooler, and what the pro's and con's of both are...

>>>The well-liked Tuniq Tower (link) seems like a good one, although a bit expensive. Also, does anyone know what the deal is with the fan controller? It seems a little strange to have a knob that goes on the back of the computer, and no way to adjust speed using the BIOS or whatever...

>>>The Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. (link) It is cheaper and smaller, but also has a smaller fan so most likely slightly diminished cooling. It's fan is supposed to be quiet and I believe the fan is made so that it automatically changes speed according to CPU temp. (Is this right?)

Anyway, I'd really appreciate any help when choosing between these two. Although I know the Tuniq Tower is very popular just for pure performance, Please take into account price, size, and noise level. I will be overclocking, but not to any extreme levels...
Thanks!

The AC Freezer is a great value but I'd go with the Tunig Tower myself, simply because I ususally overclock my systems as much as possible.

Do you know how the fan adjustment works on the Tuniq Tower? Is the knob supposed to be mounted at one of the expansion slots?
Thanks for the info.

Strangely enough, it looks like the knob is supposed to be mounted at one of the expansion slot openings. Not in a pci slot or anything but just in a vacant slot/opening. The fan adjustment knob is pretty fat and won't fit inone of my THermatake case's slots. I managed to jimmy it out and it is sitting on the floor behind my case. It works but I don't feel like modding the back to get it to fit right now.

I have found the Arctic 7 works great for me very quiet easy to fit and keeps my CPU temps under 60c, even when Folding 24/7 on both cores. Letting the system control fan spped has woked out perfectly for me also if you have a smaller case it will fit with less trouble.

The voice of reason.....

I would get the T Tower, hands down.

Its a much better cooler than the Artic one.

You can swap the fan out, to any quiet fan you want.

You can put the fan on a fan control the speed and sound, and it blows are the freezer, its not even close.

Um...

You're supposed to remove the knob when you mount it... 😉
