CPU Coolers

What motherboard ? The XP120 doesn;t fit on all of them. Personally I would get a XP90

If you want to go for hard-core cooling, get the copper xp-90c. Heavy and expensive, but cools better than the xp120 and fits most all systems.

I've got the original xp-90 and a quiet fan running a venice 3000+ at 2.7ghz. Never wanted to try the zalman setups since I'd be stuck with their fan.

For silence, the zalman. For the best cooling, the thermalright.

I'd like to see some reviews of the SI-120. I wonder if it cool better than an XP-90.

Never tried a Thermalright, but I love my Zalman 7000 Al-Cu. However, I'd tend to think that an Xp-120/Xp-90c would probably perform slightly better than a Zalman 7700, but be a tad noisier. It will be a tradeoff you'll have to decide on...too bad the Zalman 9500 series isn't available yet 😉

That thing is a beast!

I don't have an XP but I have one of most of the Zalmans and a few other high-end air coolers from Aerocool and Cooler Master.

My impression is that Zalman is just a great product overall. Not only the main coolers but the included mounting material and instructions.

As for the 7700Cu, the main surprise is how quiet it is.

I have an XP-120, and it is quite nice. I only have a modest 200MHz overclock, but it runs 10C cooler than my old Tt HSF at stock speeds.

The SI-120 doesn't look that much different from the XP-120; it is designed for people who can't fit XP-120s. So, if it fits, go with the XP120.

JEDIYoda:

I don't see how the Thermalright can be voted against because it's not silent; it is, it's a heatsink. Pair it with a Panaflo and it'll as quite as any Zalman.

@superfly27:

That cracks me up.

i think the xp-120 is quieter

i have a silentx fan and i have trouble hearing it

and it's about 5-7 degrees cooler than the stock cooler

that baby is huge, maybe u wont be able to close the sidedoor of ur case 😉 j/k.
id get an xp-120 cuz u can allways change the fan if its too loud orif u need more preformance.
