CPU Coolers: Size/Performance

Title says it all. I've looked a ton of reviews and comparisons on heatsink/fan coolers, and none organized the reviewed coolers from smallest to biggest. Though I've got room for what I want (Tuniq), I've seen a lot of threads where people wonder "Will this cooler fit?" It might be nice to know what some of the smaller, more effective cooling options are.

smaller sinks, yes there are many...

better sinks, not that are smaller, unless you consider the ultra120extreme smaller. I honestly would say mass wise, there simular. :T

Maybe it would be considered smaller, but not by much.

OCZ Vendetta, Scythe Ninja Mini, Arctic Freezer 7 + Cooler Master HyperTX2, etc. A top down cooler will generally fit, and most tower-type coolers 92mm or below will generally fit.

a tuniq will own all those coolers tho, expecially on a quadcore. :X

A slightly smaller, but nevertheless effective cooler is the Thermalright Ultima 90I. It's about equal to the TR Ultra120 (non-eXtreme).

there is no such thing as the best of anything when it comes to coolers.
Every system is unique in it`s own way.

What can be said is the Ultima 90 is one of the best small coolers!
