CPU Cooler Suggestions

Can someone recommend me a good cpu cooler, i am currently using Athon XP 2500+ barton. Thx in advance.

What areas are you looking to improve?? What kind of temps are you seeing now? How much do you want to spend???

My cpu temperature is 75 degrees, and my motherboard is set to shutdown at 80 degrees. I am currently using the stocked heatsink that came with the cpu. Im not looking too spend much money, because i will probably upgrade soon. How much would a water cooling system cost, and how hard is it to install?

You're running at 75C???? DDAAAAAMMNN!!! I'd check to see why it's so bloody hot there. Something else has to be causing it. Are you overcocking the processor or is it running at stock speeds?? I've NEVER had mine run that high, except when the compound was on wrong. 😱

How many fans do you have in your system? Make sure the ones you have are not all blowing in or not all blowing out.

Make sure you HSF is properly seated with a thin layer of thermal greaseon the core. Which thermal grease are you using?

What motherboard are you using.

What is your case temperature and what is your ambient room temperature?

75 is WAY too hot for stock speeds, I've forced mine to shut itself off at 70. I have a Thermaltake Volcano 12+ on my 2500+ and it's running 200fsb instead of 166 and is still cooler than stock speeds with the stock HSF. (was up into the low 60s under load with old setup, now I'm only mid-upper 50s even OCed a good bit)
