Will be getting either the more expensive X4 955 BE or the cheaper X2 500 .

Now what would be a good CPU cooler for these as I will overclock especially the X2 500. I dont one one huge heavy cooler

Suggestions?

bump..

I want a good <$50 cooler for the 955 too.. The stock cooler is too loud, imo. It seems that every time I pick a cooler just be reading Newegg reviews, it's always louder or clunkier than the reviewers say..

Freezer 64 seems to be the good alternative many people use around here go for it.

When you add it to cart, it's $17 with free shipping.

Cheap, dead silent, and good performance. I have it on my Q9550(the LGA 775 version) and I'm not pushing it very hard at 3.4Ghz. I could take it much higher if I wanted to.

It's showing up as $27 shipped. Where do you see it for $17?

I was actually going to recommend the Xigmatek ones, but then I realized you don't want a big cooler.

That's odd. If you use Google's shopping search to get to the link, then add to cart, it still says about $17 shipped. Click the top link when sorted by price and add to cart.

Oh I see. They're gaming froogle. The reference from froogle nets you the $10 discount.

Also, it's now $16 + shipping = $25.

Not to derail, but how do one of these compare to a Xigmatek 92mm?

I couldn't find a review that had both the Freezer Pro and the Xigmatek 92mm in it, but looking at some reviews and using the stock intel cooler as a reference, they both seemed to cool around 10C cooler than the stock cooler at full load in some of the reviews I looked at.
