CPU Cooler decision help please!

I have an ABIT IS7 with P4 2.4 @ 2.88 with the stock HSF. I am looking for your opinions on 3 HSFs:

1) Zalman 7000
2) Thermaltake 7+
3) Vantect Aeroflow.


They all look reasonable, but I am looking for your expert opinions!

The Zalman is your best bet. Quiet and efficient.

Are these what you are looking at due to price? If so I think that the SK-7 would be in that range but you will have to mod it for the mounting holes. If you can i would suggest an SLK-800 or 900 U.

I'd rather not have to mod the HSf if I don't have to. But I will take a look at the SLK as you suggest.

i have the thermaltake spark7+
on a p4 2.4ghz and im runin at over 3 ghz with it
it has 3 modes to run at max all the time, thermal speed controled, or manual speed contoler

i run at the manual controler and keeping it runing around 4000 rpm which keeps my cpu at or under 30c at idle and maxes out around 40-41c

it can do 6000 rpm but it sounds like a hairdryer
ive been nothing but thrilled with this product

Any thermalright, as others mentioned the slk800/900. Their sp94 will rock your world. We just need the AMD version of the sp94, then me be happy. 😀

Zalman 7000 Alu. I have no problems with the full copper on my P4 but with athlons fragile naked little dies, I would get the aluminum version.

Now, I have been using vantec aeroflow, it's very good, not too expensive, not too noisy, not too big (compared to Zalman, and it looks nice and elegant...

Temperature: Athlon 2600+ at 35C/43C and 36/46 full load

I think I'm leaning toward the Zalman. Seems like the easiest to install and quiet and performance is within what I need. Anyone have experience with this cooler on an IS7 with a full tower atx case?

Don't do Aeroflow, ur computer won't get much cooler than ur stock.
i know, i "had" one. Aeroflow throws the BS about its design and material. After all, ONLY the core is copper, it is aluminum.

I"ve got an SLK-900 on my Tbred 2100+, runs about 36C full load, Panaflo L1A 92mm on top.
