I am selling my 2500+ Barton and Im pretty sure it works because when my MB failed me I did all the tests like removing RAM and CPU to see if it beeps and it didnt so I was sure that the MB died. Anyways is it possible for me to test it on my old motherboard that takes PC133 just to make sure it works or is this a bad idea?

It most likely won't work, but I don't think it'll kill your CPU. I tried to use my 2500+ Barton on an older PC133 SDRAM board and while it would POST, I would get memory errors. It would be best to manually set your jumpers/BIOS for voltage, FSB and multiplier as the older motherboards may not know how to handle them.

I would use a friends comp or go to a PC store you know and try it. Are you thinking on upgrading CPU/Mobo to A64? That coupled with the 6800 you are thinking of would be a great comp.

That would be nice but Im looking to replace it with a mobile 2600+ although I may check out some prices on a MB and Athlon 64 Processor and sell my fresh from RMA Ram and A7N8X Deluxe which should be here next week.
