CPU Choice

Not going to overclock at all. My dad is trying to decide between a Duron 1.2 or a Athlon T-Bird 1.13 both are basically 75.00. Which is better?

I personally would look for the 1.13 because of the cache difference. I don't think that the clock difference on the two is large enough to warrant going with the smaller cache just to get that extra 70Mhz. With files and progs getting larger and larger, I think that the athlon won't feel as dated as the duron would in the future.

I'd say the Duron, firstly because of a higher clock speed, but secondly because it's the newer Palamino core, with SSE and hardware data prefetch and whatever else. I'd expect that those would make up for the difference in cache.
