CPU Bios Temp or Sandra Temp?

My BIOS sez my CPU temp is 44 degrees, Sandra sez 34 degrees. Which is it? Which gives the most accurate read? I don't have a temp sensor down there, so I'm relying on these tools...

probably BIOS.

the 34C might for example be case temp and sandra just reading wrong sensor.

No, they are both right.

Windows XP automatically cools down the CPU using the halt instruction, so in Windows your temperature will be a lot lower. But during Boot-up, the CPU is not cooled, so the regular temperature is shown.

If youre sitting for 10 mins to get the temperature, maybe. If you check sandra, quickly reboot and check BIOS they should be about the same, i.e give or take a couple C, not 10. If anything, it should be BIOS showing 34C and SANDRA 44C, and then only when booting from cold.

I check sandra after about a half hour or so of gaming, and running seti. I then restart the computer and check BIOS temp. BIOS sez 45, Sandra sez 35. I think Sandra is reading chipset temp or ambient temp.
