You gotta be kidding me...no one catches Office Space references anymore?

Every other .rar file I try to open crashes 7zip. Actually, lately it seems to crash all the time. Is it supposed to be used on administrative accounts? WinRAR is at least stable.
I'd tell you what I'd do...two chicks at the same time.![]()

You don't need to win the lottery to do two chicks at the same time.
(your welcome 😉 )
yes, it's just really played out
In some ways, perhaps. I found the interface to be a bit convoluted compared to WinRAR.7zip is superior in every way and its free
It shows you how much RAM it needs before you try to start. And really, you get no meaningful benefits beyond ultra w/ a big word size.In some ways, perhaps. I found the interface to be a bit convoluted compared to WinRAR.
Nifty compression options too, though it sucks that lots of combinations just come back with something to the effect of "Not enough RAM to do this" - 4-8GB evidently wasn't enough.
Since when was it ad-free? I've got 4.something, and it is no more ad-free than any prior versions (but many internet folk seem to dislike zip and 7z, and some RARs 7-zip doesn't like).I like WinRAR, the interface gives me a retro feel and it has no ads.

let's discuss piracy?
People typically don't pirate WinRAR. They just tolerate the nag screen on the freeware download.

I wonder if people think I'm weird because I actually paid for mIRC and Trillian*. :hmm:

I wonder if people think I'm weird because I actually paid for mIRC and Trillian*. :hmm: I've been finding good free replacements for software that I used in the past. An example is how I use 7Zip instead of WinRAR or ZnView instead of ACDSee for reading manga. ACDSee is really nice for that and handles archives a bit better, but it's not worth the price tag.
*Note: Twice for Trillian... I own Astra (4.0) and have a lifetime subscription to 5.0.
