coworker, actually he sits in my cube with me - so annoying

Just move his shit when he leaves for lunch or at the end of the day. If he moves it back make his life hell by bumping him like he does you. If he complains tell your supervisor and his that had he put his stuff in the appropriate positions this bumping would not have occurred.

On a side note this person sounds like the quiet power type of person. In his idiotic mind he feels he has some power over you because he will not move his stuff and he annoys you with those bumps just to remind you of his power.

Dude! I didn't know you were on this forum! LOL I'll move it first thing Monday morning. I was being a dick on purpose because you were being a douche and you kind of smell bad. Hasn't anyone mentioned it to you before?

Anywho, see you Monday!

Talking to his boss would be a good idea since it bothers you that much and he isnt gonna change.

This is probably my only safe option. I could definitely move all of it during lunch or before he gets to work, but he has already made it obvious he doesn't want to sit on the right side of the desk. If he wasn't constantly distracting me I wouldn't mind, but by sitting where he does it is very annoying, and it would be to pretty much anyone else.

Both valid points, but there is a shelf on the other side of the desk that the monitors won't fit under. He put his monitors in front of said shelf so they are literally 3 inches from the end of the desk, with the keyboard sitting on top of the monitor stands. He has about 3"x2" of mouse pad area and his keyboard bounces with every key-press as it is not sitting evenly on the desk. I could move my desk and work with the same situation, but that is incredibly stupid as there is a gigantic space 3 feet to the right with dedicated spaces for all of this in a much more comfortable position.

Is it possible that he chose that position because of the location of the cube entrance and the visibility of his screens from the cube entrance?

If so, ask him to switch sides so you're on that side of the cube.

Ask him to move his stuff right now while you're standing right there. That's what it means to grow a pair. If not, just keep backing your chair into his til he gets the point or move his stuff for him when he's not there. Simple.

Oh thanks, is that all I have to do? No shit  I've asked him to move it politely and also said move your stuff and I'll help you do it right now. Nothing works. I am not a passive person, but I'm not going to throw down with him at work either. I am also not going to touch his stuff because that is definitely going to cause a problem.

Just move his stuff and tell him IT did it. I've sat in virtually every workstation in my companie's division (about 2000), and manhandled their systems. I usually tried to move stuff back to where they were, but sometimes I could care less and they could too.

Then obviously, you need to work on your communication skills. I don't know how you can say something to him like "can you move your stuff right now" and let him ignore you. If you weren't passive, you would be persistent til he did right now and then. And if he didn't I would just push my chair back into him til he did.
