I will laugh my ass off if Garcia leads the Eagles to a SuperBowl win. That would make McNabb look really, really bad.

To the average fan, it may make McNabb look bad, but changing QBs is not the reason for the turnaround.

Andy Reid would always call the offensive plays. 3 weeks ago, he allowed the OC to call all the plays. The Iggles have won all 3 games. That is part of the reason why the offense is really clicking.

The defense is also playing really well 🙂

I just think Garcia is better suited for this offense.

Gotcha 🙂 He definitely knows the offense, as it is the same offense that he ran in SF.

not only the same offense but the same offensive coordinator.

it's funny tho, i posted it earlier, but talk radio stations here in philly are implying that garcia might be smarter than mcnabb and hence better at running an offense.

IF garcia does go on to take the eagles to the super bowl and win it, is there a QB controversy in Philly?

Exactly. However, McNabb's made great plays in the past, but sometimes he makes some really boneheaded moves. Not saying Garcia doesn't, but I just think it's great that we can finally see what Garcia can do with this team.

Edit: PlatinumGold, there's ALWAYS a controversy in Philadelphia -- just turn on WIP after an Eagles loss. 😉

i was listening to 610 AM (not sure what the handle for that station is) but the hosts on that show were pretty adamant they thought garcia was the second coming and that he was better than McNabb.

edit

btw, i just moved to Yardley (well 1 year ago last week) so lately i've been listening some to 610 instead of WFAN out of NY.

i guess i'm going to have to start rooting for philly teams as i probably won't be leaving yardley for a while.

610AM = WIP 😉 aka a bunch of bandwagon Eagles fanboys. They'll ride McNabb's jock when he's doing great, but then kick him to the curb when he's lousy.

Edit: I bet when McNabb first got injured, they were crying in their beer and then whining that they wanted AJ Feeley starting, instead of Garcia. I don't know, just a hunch because I can't stand listening to them.

Damn, I hope the eagles lose next week and the cowboys win.

But then again, this is typical of the cowboys from the last few years. They keep losing the games that really matter. They get on a nice streak in the middle of the season, and everything falls apart at the end it seems.

Oh well, we're still in the playoffs, but it's still disappointing.

Nah, it's more of a product that the Eagles are becoming a more balanced team. Passing on every down wasn't getting it done.

Yea, while that's true, it doesn't excuse the fact that Dallas' offense was piss poor today.

the WIP guys are just miserable. Their sports 'analysis' is so absurd, it just angers me to listen to it. The only time I listen to them now is when I'm trying to catch a game thats not on tv or if i'm not near a tv.

Good job by Philly.
Garcia, while he may not have the physical ability of McNabb, is a much smarter player and rarely makes mistakes.
He is not a great QB by any stretch of the imagination, but he is good, and a great fit in this offense.
He provided a much needed spark for this Eagles team.
That said, I don't think that was the reason for this turnaround.
I think the defense was terrible the first half of the season and really turned it up lately.
They've been playing great football.
Can Brian Dawkin just retire already? 😛

couple of things,

to me, Garcia is like Joe Montana, not the greatest physical tools but a smart QB.

the other thing is, Phillys Defense looks better in my opinion because Garcia keeps the offense on the field longer than McNabb used to.

Well that goes both ways.
They don't stay on the field long because they are stopping the opposing offense. 🙂

Love all you DallASS fans talking bad about the Eagles. Cowboys embarassed themselves and Eagles played smart football.

DallASS, enjoy your 5th seed 🙂

(And for the record, I've stuck by my Eagles thru all of this, not a bandwagon fan)

GO BIRDS!

Romo cannot perform well in a big game. Eagles defense will shut him down.

Garcia on the other hand has been there done that.

Colts game wasn't big?

No, not really ... It was big in terms of TV ratings & hype, but compared to today it was nothing.

Seahawks will win the Super Bowl. Just watch.

Too funny! They won't even get to the superbowl. They may end up with the worst record in the playoffs. If there division wasn't so crappy, they would be done next week.

Go ahead, live in the past.

It might block out the sound of our derisive laughter here in the present. 😛
