In the hype of Colts/Pats everyone has forgotten that one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL takes place today....Its time for Cowboys at Eagles!!!

Should be a good game. I predict McNabb hits for a couple of scores but the Eagles offense can't keep up with the Cowboys machine, Cowboys 34, Eagles 17.

I think as we post, we should reveal our biases here :) I'm an Eagles fan.

First, I think this will be a lot closer a game than anyone's calling (except for vegas, where the birds are giving 3 at home). The cowboys can score lots of points, but the Philly D has been better this year than in a long time. The Eagles offense has struggled to score TD's, while Dallas's D has been unusually porous this year.

The game will come down to the Eagles offense against the Dallas D, I think the opposite matchup is a push. Will the flashes of McNabb past we've seen since the 2nd half of the Bears game materialize? Will the Cowboys D figure out how to pressure McNabb and take away Westbrook?

I'm calling it 24-17 Eagles.

I believe this is going to be Tank's first game with the 'Boys, is it not? I'm a huge Cowboys fan, so my money is on them!

The Eagles are so going to kick the football around; better known as punting a lot.

Cowboys Fan. :D

Heh, the one thing I try never to do is put money on my own team, unless the bet's really one-sided. I'll be drinking my team to victory tonight, though!

LOL at the typical biased eagles fans on here...

Dallas is going to kill them, and you all know it. The eagles suck horribely this year and Dallas will be in the SB.

BTW the bitter rivalry you mention? That's only for Eagles fans, the real rivalry is Redskins vs Dallas. We Dallas fans don't care about the Eagles, that's an easy 2-0 wins for us.

If Dallas gets homefield then I agree with your prediction. But, if the playoffs end up going through GreenBay and D has to play on the Frozen Tundra, I think they will be watching it on T.V. with the rest of us. I don't think many believe GB can keep it going all season, but winning in Denver was a big win IMHO.

i am a huge packer fan and even i dont think they can keep going like this all season. i would love to see it happen. it would be one heck of a way for favre to retire. but with the worst running game in the nfl its not going to happen. if it does i will be ecstatic. but i just don't see it happening.

i think it'll be close. eagles have the defense to contain the cowboys. and westbrook makes the safeties cheat up so mcnabb can go long.

eagles' season rests on this game and they always play well with their backs against the wall, especially against the cowboys.

I didn't see the Steeler's running the table on the road, as a 6 seed, a couple years ago either, but it happened. :) Don't forget how aweful the Colts D was either, then they turned it around and instead of the O carrying them to wins, they started factoring in themselves. My point is, Stats don't always tell the whole story, and you never know what will happen next, so poor odds or not, 6-1 is 6-1 and that ain't bad.

Oh, I'll take the Cowboys by 4.

I'm pretty sure I gave you a balanced look at the factors. It will come down to the Philly offense and which McNabb shows up. I think we have two "knowns" in the Dallas O and Philly D right now. That's a good matchup, but whether or not Philly scores points will decide the game.

I've watched every Eagles game this year and all but one Dallas game. Philly has a horrible record, but there's a difference between a bad team that lacks talent and a bad team that just hasn't gotten it together. The talent's there for the Eagles, the D has already shown it (look at the defensive stats despite how long that defense has had to be on the field this year), the offense needs to get in sync. Similarly, Dallas has shown a big play offense that can score at any time, even though Romo turns it over a lot. The defense has been porous and let up a lot of scoring to teams that can score points.

Now, calling your team a lock for the SB. That's some bias right there.

Your logic is flawed. The fact that the Philly D is "known" (which I might disagree with...stats aside, I don't think its very good), and the fact that the Cowboys offense is also "known", is a huge factor. If Dallas has the ball, and in that situation both units on the field are credible, there's a huge power struggle...Dallas could drop 42, the Eagles could stop them for 13. I'd say the Eagles offense against the Dallas defense has a lot less to be seen.

I predict McNabb will spend most of his time trying to escape the pass rush, and will be sacked numerous times. The game will be all but over by early in the 3rd, and Dallas will pull their starters by the fourth. 38-13 Cowboys. This will be the first game this season Dallas has all their starters healthy and in the game on defense and they will make the Philly offence look pathetic

Dallas offence (ranked #2) vs. Eagles defense (ranked #9)
Eagles offence (ranked #8) vs. Cowboys defense (ranked #6)

Enough said, Eagles lose on both sides of the ball

That's why they play the game. I still gave a balanced look, from the vantage of my opinion. You also gave me a balanced look from yours. All I'm saying is, I didn't just say "FUX THE COWGIRLS!!!!111 IGGLES RULEZ!" which is pretty much what SVT did while pointing out that the Eagles fans posting were being ignorant. As much as I like the guy in other threads, we're at odds here :)

This will be an interesting game. Eagles has owned Dallas 7 of the last 8 (i think), but they're not looking too good this year. The Cowboys have been shaky lately, but who knows how they'll be after the bye week. I think they'll come out ready, especially now with Tank and Anthony Henry back in the lineup. Even so, this rivalry seems to bring out the best in the Eagles.

Interestingly, the Cowboys are 5-1 on Sunday Night on NBC...

Prediction: Cowboys 27-21

Not a fan of either team and I dislike Romo.

Cowboys will still take that big D and smack the eagles right in the mouth with it. I think it will be close as it gets close to halftime but D will pull away in 3rd-4th.

Westbrook is the only real weapon left on the Eagles and it will take Dallas some time to adjust if hes in the game. 17-10 at halftime, 31-13 final.

Dawkins is back true and hes of course high caliber but he can't stop everyone by himself.

As long as the Cowboys win by a field goal, I don't care what happens. Romo and Donovan could be killed and eaten by zombies as long as the scoreboard is 3 points in Dallas' favor.
