While I'm not a musician but doesn't essentially every drum kit has a cow bell attached? I'm pretty sure the cow bell is in hundreds of songs as a beat but not a focus.

That is just the one that had a hey day with it, go look up songs using triangles I guess as a percussion instrument.
BTW, a Piano is a percussion instrument.
I have no idea if a piano is a percussion instrument. It can be used for it. I assume any string based music instrument can be used for percussion, when tickling the strings and make the string silent again immediately after.

If you hit a cello with a hammer I guess it would be a percussion instrument.
