Biden's polling is where it is because there is an ongoing global pandemic, higher-than-normal inflation, and virtually nothing being accomplished legislatively because Manchin and Sinema are essentially Republican moles.

And there's 35% of the country who would love for fascists to take over and murder liberals in their sleep.

We can quit blaming FOX and OANN for Americans being stupid and gullible. Nothing is stopping them from changing the channel.
And why is the pandemic dragging on? Oh right, because conservative media has convinced millions of Republicans that masks and vaccines are attacks on their freedom. Thanks Biden.

Jim Justice has COVID.

I'd like to point out that despite being republican and despite being the governor of West Virginia, he actually took the threat seriously and dealt with it appropriately. He didnt deny its existence or deny vaccines. in fact he was second only to Alaska in vaccine distribution.

They didn't get this way overnight. It's a lifetime of grooming.

Fox has spent decades grooming the base, but they also tapped into the religious grooming that came before, that aimed to shut down critical thinking.

Trump basically revealed how successful the Religious/Fox grooming has been. The base now only believe received dogma from their authority figures. Science, established facts, or video evidence all hold no sway. This is some 1984 doublethink conditioning here. The sheep seem capable of simultaneously believing that the January insurrection was the result of Trump patriots that shouldn't be penalized, and that it was result of Antifa, pretending to be Trump supporters.

Authority figures just have to repeat some talking points and do some actions to win loyalty of the sheep, and then they will believe anything, since they are already groomed.

This is why you have DeSantis, issuing performative bills against social media censorship, that are actually against the first amendment, or bills to encourage the spread of Covid (antimasking, antivaxxing). He doesn't actually think anything he is doing makes any sense, he is just sending a message to the groomed flock.

He's trying to get anointed as the next leader of the sheep. Once he's "proven himself", he can tell any lies and they will just believe it. If anything he's worse than Trump.

Trump is a despicable creature, but it wasn't some grand Machiavellian strategy that guided him. A lifelong pathological liar found a ready made flock of groomed sheep to follow him by almost happy accident.

DeSantis and others like him now recognize the extend of the cults programming and what kind of immense power is available for abuse.

Basically something close to half the country is basically part of a heavily programmed death cult, and they can't simply change the channel.

By definition, he’s not a Covidiot. In fact, neither is Trump anymore (yes Trump didn’t exactly mask up as often as he should, but he fucked around, found out, got caught vaxxed afterwards, got boosted, and isn’t bullshitting about vaccines any more.)

Calling my attention to a judgement of me that doesnt fit reality? Dont worry. You arent original in that regard.
You should probably start talking to your doctor about dementia. I called your attention to a major contributing factor that you seem to really want to ignore or pretend is insignificant. I didn't call attention to a "judgment of you," whatever the fuck that is supposed to mean.

millions of liberals just creamed their pants.

And now all of a sudden christian conservatives look for excuses to rationalize weed.
I'm still going to get another booster if needed anyway.

Hate to break it to you, but 51% is the percentage that disapprove of Biden's job performance. He is well underwater, about a net -10% currently. There's still some time until the midterm elections, but there needs to be significant improvement against COVID to change the narrative. Although I largely disagree with how people have chosen to apportion pandemic blame to Biden, it's the dominant reason for his low approval ratings. If that doesn't charge markedly after this omicron wave, the midterms will be a disaster.
Shit, you're right! I read 538 in the morning when I'm having coffee usually so I apparently just glance at the numbers. My bad!

Ok, please return to the regularly scheduled concern trolling.

I have no opinion on Boris Johnson and this work party scandal. But funny how the rest of the world want to hold their leader accountable. Repugicans? Nope.

Maybe Boris's luck is running out?

Boris Johnson’s premiership was hanging in the balance as Conservative MPs began openly calling for his resignation after he admitted attending a garden party in lockdown, claiming he thought it was a “work event”.

Johnson delivered a carefully worded apology for attending the alcohol-fuelled gathering of up to 40 officials in May 2020, which was described in an email invitation as “socially distanced drinks” to enjoy the warm weather.

fter Johnson’s statement, one of the Conservatives’ most senior backbenchers, William Wragg, and Douglas Ross, the leader of the party in Scotland, publicly called for Johnson to resign, saying his position had become untenable.

Late on Wednesday night, former minister Caroline Nokes added her voice to those calling for the prime minister’s resignation. Speaking to ITV’s Peston, she said Johnson was in an “impossible position”, adding: “He either goes now, or he goes in three years’ time at a general election, and it’s up to the party to decide which way around that’s going to be. I know my thoughts are that he’s damaging us now.”

Please let this be the end of this buffoon and his "essay crisis" approach to government.

It's really looking as if throughout what was a severe lockdown for everyone else, Boris and his chums were partying like it was 2019.

This made me laugh - his ridiculous non-apology just made things worse.

One former minister was less convinced, saying Johnson “didn’t apologise for what he did but for things that may or may not have happened which he officially knows nothing about until Sue Gray tells him about it”.
