A long one but this guy covers such a wide range of Anti-Vax BS. Nice Zinger though:

"Friday he spent 45 minutes pumping out the kind of misinformation that can get people killed. You know what that means? Rodgers could be president, one day."

They do not have a right to impede traffic unless they have a permit and usually a police escort.

For one:

If they are stopping traffic then they are violating my rights.

Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights reads: (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each State. ... (1) Everyone lawfully within the territory of a State shall, within that territory, have the right to liberty of movement and freedom to choose his residence.

I've sometimes wondered about that "right" - as whenever I try to exercise my 'freedom of movement' (on foot, by bicycle, by bus) there are endless bloody cars in the way, implicitly threatening to kill me if I try to exercise that right.

Sometimes they pretty much make such movement impossible, as when they build urban motorways cutting communities in half (e.g. the North circular).
I sometimes wonder whether I could appeal on the basis of the alleged right of 'freeedom of movement' for all those cars to be banned outright from urban streets. Motorists pretty clearly impede my 'freedom of movement'.

But really it just highlights the problem with liberal ideas of 'rights'. What constitutes a 'right' is largely determined on the basis of who has power. "Rights" are a product of the distribution of power in a society, they don't underlie it.

...and then there's my right to breath clean air... another one motorists habitually violate with no repercussions.

Some statistics here:

So far this year, FAA has received 5033 complaints of unruly passenger behavior on commercial aircraft.

They elected to impose civil fines not to exceed $37,000 on 227 of them.

They have referred 37 to DoJ for criminal prosecution. Airline employee unions are urging FAA to prosecute more.

A high percentage of these complaints have to do with people not wanting to wear masks.

This has caused attrition among flight crews, especially flight attendants. Impacting air travel, causing cancellations, and soon to be an increase in ticket prices.

Big Bird gets vaxxed and the GQP lose their fucking minds lol:

Sesame Street is Communist. Not really surprising for a media fixture that’s been brainwashing our kids to share and behave and respect authority for like 60 years.

saw this earlier. there really is no stranger fiction than reality. and this isn't even the first time a popular show (or movie) has made an endorsement of vaccination, either! Star Wars did, as well as Lambchop, and many others (and of course Sesame Street has in the past as well)

Interesting read. It's really what one would expect with the political division
of the vaccines (left vs right).

A higher percentage of the population is dying from Covid-19 in the states where the orange menace won.

COVID Gets Even Redder

"In October, 25 out of every 100,000 residents of heavily Trump counties died from COVID, more than three times higher than the rate in heavily Biden counties (7.8 per 100,000). October was the fifth consecutive month that the percentage gap between the death rates in Trump counties and Biden counties widened. "

What are Virginia’s covid death numbers? Didn’t look like republican deaths affected voting outcome. But let’s see red states in 2022

The pandemic might not ever actually end in red America who refuses to vaccinate, especially if conspiracy talk overtakes the oral antivirals coming to market.

If we would have just opened up the economy, or never shut it down, all of this would be a moot point by now. Those that wanted to be dead would already be dead, along with some collateral damage, but that's freedom baby. Instead, here we are, mired in this for far too long because we foolishly wanted to preserve life.

A lot of these nuts actually think the hospitals are killing them (instead of the virus) and telling each other not to take medications, oxygen, go on a vent, etc.
I saw a video of someone with a bull horn at Dealey Plaza shouting that exact things. Don't go to the hospital, don't take the vaccine, don't take medicine, don't take O2, they are literally trying to kill you. He was actually saying that COVID does not kill people, hospitals do. I have never seen a more clear example of someone getting the whole 'correlation does not equal causation' wrong.

I just tried to find the video again but it has been taken down. The full livestream of the guy in Dallas that goes around interviewing people at protests is still on Twitch, that is what the video I saw is a highlight reel of. Here is his feed https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1193945207

The implied ~0.3+% cumulative deaths of republicans vs. <0.2% of democrats from COVID to date, for a net swing of ~0.1%, would historically have impacted very few elections.

Looking back at 2020 as an example, with an unusual number of very tight races - the Democrats would have won two more U.S. House seats if they'd benefitted from a 0.1% swing in 2020.

I came in to post the same thing. There are only 14,200 official Virginia Covid-19 deaths, and roughly 18,500 excess deaths. The governor's race was won by 64,414 votes (with more absentee ballots still to be counted). Thus, even if all Covid deaths were to one political party, and all deaths were to voters, it still wouldn't have swung the election. Over time Covid deaths will impact elections, but only in the very tightest elections.

The VA house of delegates had some very close races in the last two elections. Covid deaths could eventually end up mattering for that body much more so than statewide offices.
