The reality is the "research" is most likely Facebook memes from conspiracy theorists and antivaxxers.

They've improved the technology. Before it would hang and complain and blink for an attendant constantly. Now they just seem to work a lot better. However there is one local grocery store that after the item scan it insists detecting the item dropping into the bag. If you don't slam the item into the bag the detection system halts the scanning process. But that's with only one store.

Some bitches said something to me 5 year-old in Bar Harbor. We were walking between stores and bitch say "You don't need to be wearing that little girl." It didn't really register until they had already passed, so I didn't respond. But seriously WTF is wrong with people.
