Almost 64 yr old metastatic lung cancer patient, front facing healthcare worker.

shot # 1, a sore arm, felt vaguely unwell but went to work, slight nausea & dizzyness but went to bed early felt fine the next day
shot # 2 I had an immunotherapy infusion on Friday & got the second vaccine dose on Monday morning, by nightfall I was shivering like mad, my muscles hurt, Tuesday it was worse felt like flu on steroid, even my bones hurt, low grade fever, Husband was worried, said my complexion had gone totally gray, I chugged water & stayed in bed most of the day, Today I feel somewhat better,I ate a light meal, slept a lot.

My takeaway? These side effects were signs of an immune system strongly doing it’s job, something to celebrate. If you are offered the vaccine take it, don’t wait & see! My side effects? Not pleasant but well worth it to have a 95% chance of not dying of Covid.

I'll take it, eventually, but the vaccine in Texas is no where to be had. Probably will be months. Good news today though is that Johnson and Johnson's vaccine is so far 100% effective and only needs to be kept in a regular fridge. One dose only, should get ok'd by the end of this month with 100 million doses ready to ship.

huh, wonder why the second shot was worse than the first. Would figure the body already had the antibodies to fight it.

First, of all, Soylent is delicious.

Second, we already carry smartphones with GPS that canvas fingerprint us non-stop & we all have thousands of posts across various social media platforms. I'm sure the FBI agent they assigned to me is bored to death at this point lol.

Some of my relatives got first round of the vaccine shot. All were fine with no abnormal symptoms. But couple of them jumped the line and received shots when they're in phase 2 & 3 group. I don't know how they pulled that off but they're rich so I'm sure they used their connections somehow to get the shots early.

I got my first shot last week. I had pain at the injection site, but it was nothing Tylenol couldn't handle. I had the Moderna vaccine, and hope to hell that my governor doesn't mess with shot #2 before I go next month.

Personally I was hoping it would give me free 5G but you can’t have everything :)

OMG what a disappointment! :confused_old:

btw isn't it 5G that's supposed to give you Covid not the reverse? :D

;)

(really happy to hear your doing okay!)

Its ok ... a few of the Trumpers I've engaged (foolishly) on other forums will be available to fill in after I forwarded links to their potentially illegal posts to both the FBI and Homeland-security.

A lot of eligible people refused the vaccine in many places, once you thaw that stuff out you either use it or lose the dose, a lot of people got vaccinated that way

Sorry to hear it kicked your already-weakened butt...but glad to hear you're doing better. With your job and illness, you NEED the vaccine.
My immune system is just a savage :) “ hmmm spike protein, we saw you a couple weeks ago & now we’re gonna kick yer arse outta here”

So jealous! I can't wait until I get the vaccine. P2 already has both doses. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Glad all went well. I imagine you're considered fairly high risk for covid so it's good you were able to get it. The roll out in the states seems to be going way better than here.

Don't watch TruNews, got a few Trump-humpers I know that watch that, they had some people on there about the "evil, satanic, Covid vaccine", and all of it's ills.

One of them told me once, that there was NO vaccine that was "ever" effective. Then later, they were telling me about how they injected people with Cowpox, and then those people didn't get Smallpox. I asked, "was that an effective vaccine"? They said yes. So I no longer speak to that intellectually-bankrupt liar, who is lost in Trump / conspiracy-theory double-think.

Edit: They also think that if they use Linux, and refuse browser cookies, that they can't be tracked online. Boy, are they in for a rude awakening, should they do anything or post anything illegal online.

For the rest of the more reasonable population like Geekbabe, I wish them well!

I got the first Moderna shot on Tuesday- sore arm but that's it. My employer is requesting we get the second shot at the start of our weekend because there's a much higher chance of side effects w/ the second shot. Not looking forward to it, but as you said, I'm sure it'll be worth it.
