its the only sad resort and con bush-type has in response. if you notice its very similar to bush's admins method of lies and deceptions. they avoid questions, avoid facts, discourage dissent and questions altogether. You'll never get a response, because trying to respond to that question in a way that sits with their mandate, involves lies. And those lies are getting tired and are as transparent as glass. The answer of course is no. This has been proven and even admitted to by pro-war folk. They just can't come out and say they are liars and crooks though can they, so hum-de-dum, wait for the inevitable fall of this current scum, it will happen, just a matter of when.

Your opinion was pre-empted by the election. Consider yourself marginalized.

It happens when you post the same soggy emotional opinions over and over and over and over and over and over.

Actually it took less then a year if you are talking about pacifying and getting the populace on board. The Germans and the rest of Western Europe did not want to be part of the Soviet Union and it's satellite states. The Germans had nothing but loathing toward communism and Stalin. As for Japan they had no choice because A.) They were a defeated people who started a war and lost B.) Everyone in Asia hated their guts including Red China C.) The Russians were itching to get some turf back they lost up north of Japan prior to WW 2. So even the Japanese had a incentive to cooperate and to welcome us after the war. Not to mention the fact that the Japanese were pretty much westernized before the war let alone after it and so there wasn't that much of a culture shock on both sides. Of course if you are talking about rebuilding the infrastructure and commerce etc.... then yeah it took a longer then 3-5 years. Of course we all know that Iraq has nothing at all in common with post WW 2 Germany or Japan.

P.S. We'll leave when we are told to get the f-ck out of there country especially after the elections. If they tell us to leave or they start putting up major rules of engagement then trust me we have no choice but to listen and follow. To act bull-headed and to not listen to what the Iraqi goverment tells us will just ensure that the insurgents become even more popular and it will also ensure that any new fragile goverment is viewed as nothing more then a puppet goverment.

Well I'm glad our country will be financing the destruction and reconstruction of *one* regime (which posed no threat to us, while many other horrid regimes which also pose no threat still exist) for decades to come while there is still so much that could have been done to improve our own country first.

We can spend millions reconstructing Iraqi hospitals but can't even give free medical care to our own soldiers who have lost limbs over there.
