Never heard any comments about John Mayer's music on this board... He's got to be one of the more talented songwriters in quite some time... He's got "many" good tunes... I'm a Pink Floyd and Dave Matthews fan and there are many similarities to the genius of these artists in J. Mayer's music... Nice guitar rif in "Covered in Rain"... Could be David Gilmour... reminds me of "Time" live...

I'll be at the August show in Birmingham...

The guys got the funniest facial expressions when he performs but his music is great... Very "bluesie", relaxing, and "smart'...

Do a search in the archives for John Mayer. I've started plenty of Mayer posts. The guy rocks and I've been to one of his concerts and am going to another this summer with the GF.

I've also got all of his CD's and the AGT DVD

I think he's a really talented guitarist, but his music is just average, at best. I've heard his albums and some live recordings and just wasn't impressed, but thats my opinion.

I saw him opening for Glen Phillips (former Toad The Wet Sprocket lead), and he was a huge manwhore. Ive been soured on him ever since.
