Having grown up in that mindset, although not adhering to the practices (I did have one dating relationship for 1.5 years prior to meeting my S.O.) All I can say is that having these perspectives made my high school and college life a HECK of a lot less sh!tty than what I hear from you guys about your lives and relationships. I was less miserable, had better friends, had better romantic relationships (both of them) etc. I've never worried about cheating, dishonesty, power games...
You guys can say what you want, but from my firsthand experience, this view of life was nothing but positive.
