Ghosting is a great way to go. I have a 160GB drive just for ghosting, and then it is backed up to one of my server's 120Gb drive. I just installed SCSI RAID on my 600SC with 3 36GB 10K. I used to run RAID 1 on my old computer did not see any bid differences other than benchmarking. Would have been different maybe for a webserver with a load on it though.

Nice that 2003 Ghost supports NTFS for ghosting. I also run Corp Ghost Server which does support NTFS to a central server location.

Good deal I do not that coupon will last long..

You can get Systemworks 2003 OEM (which is actually better than the retail version) for around $14 shipped. Search previous threads.

How did you guys get free shipping? Was there a coupon or a rebate form to fill to get free shipping? Mine showed $5.95 shipping fee :(:frown:

I think the problem is if the store is futher than 200 miles from your location, you get charged for shipping. This might be a change in Office Depot policy, where even if you have a local store, but the item is out of stock and has to ship from futher away, you get charged. Not sure about that. Do you have an OD locally?

And to think that we were getting "deals" on $50-60 120GB drives this past holiday season.

My mobo doesn't like my WD drive... it gave me the option for in-store pickup although it was out of stock. Deal gets even sweeter if that option works.

If it says $130 before rebate, I think your coupon got kicked somehow. I would go into your account on OD's site, cancel and then reorder with the coupon again. Try clearing your cookies first though.

Wow. What a novel concept. I reordered it and got the right price, but it wouldn't let me cancel the old order online. I called and they cancelled it without problem. It's even still scheduled to deliver tomorrow.

Very good, thanks for pointing out the obvious. ;)

Did I order this drive? I'm going to have to go back and look through my receipts. So many hard drive deals lately. Heh. I don't even know if I took advantage of this deal or not. ;)

I don't get it. Even if you bought the drive before, aren't the offers different since they have different time intervals?

Well.. Dumbass! You ended the same post with something about still being happy with the price after rebate even though it didn't record the coupon.

Just jumped on this! Got it for $108 with coupon code. Rebates ready and waiting for UPC. $48 final. Thanks for the heads up and great posts. This is my first post and can't wait to help chip in on deals!

Hrmm.. I've been thinking about swapping the 3 60's in the server to 3 or 4 120's.. (RAID5)

I might have to hit up a friend or 3 to get some mulitple rebate action going on. Tis a damn shame they aren't SATA, that would have been the icing on the cake for me.

well redundancy sounds good, either manually leaving double copies on separate drives, or raid:) 1yr warrantee is scary. not that 3yr warrantee gets your data back when ur harddrive is hosed anyways.

I have lots of hard drive space in my computer. Two 120s and a 160GB, none of it in raid. I use Norton Systemworks Pro 2003, which has a good version of Ghost where you can create images of your boot drive and store them on another drive. This works with NTFS partitions. It takes a little while, maybe thirty minutes to get this done, but this backup is absolutely rock-solid perfect copy. I usually make one of these before I do something major, or about every week otherwise. This is one reason I like having multiple big drives in my computer.

I also periodically move a new drive into the torture boot drive position, usually before the year warranty is up and move the old drive into one of my friends computers for a fair price.

BTW, the reason I need this much space is video editing.

yea ghost rules for protecting os, but i don't use it to backup my other data..

Go online to your OD account and look at recent orders, where you can print out an invoice.

I just got my drive in Seattle. I didn't realize this was 8MB cache model. That is a nice little plus. Included very nice invoice and packing list.

FYI, OD ran out of stock if order online. No back-ordered for this item.

I decided to stop into OD today at lunch and they had 1 more 120gig drive sitting there. I picked it up, although I'm not too sure what to do with it. I wasn't able to use a coupon, but I need a drive. The only thing is that I just had a 120gig Maxtor fail. It was less than a year old. Well, I don't know if it was the drive or Windows, but after having to push the power switch after WinXP hung up, I can't install WinXP on it and chkdsk tells me there are unrecoverable errors on the disk. I had hope to score one of the nice, quiet Seagate drives that seem to have been on sale for the last few months, but of course, they weren't on sale this week when I really need one.
