Coupon dead

Office Depot has a deal on the Maxtor 120GB 7200rpm 8MB cache Hard drive on sale for $119.88 - $30 OD rebate -$30 maxtor rebate= $59.88 with free shipping after rebates.

Not as hot as the OM deals but I do like the Maxtors better. Have had less problems..

Coupon code no longer works on technology products

At least we don't have to go through the trouble of PM'ing. Thanks!

If you are part of Ebates, go through them and you will see a $20 off $75 coupon. Unfortunately for me, I used this last week for the Imation DVD-R deal. So what you can do is go to, ahem, chubby wallet and read the thread there. They have a referral code that worked for $20 off $100. I even went through Ebates and applied the coupon to my cart later. Worked fine. At least the order went through to this stage. So my final cost with tax included and rebates/ebates is probably going to be around $45.

I've had good luck with Office Depot and Maxtor rebates. Not as fast as Staples, but they have all come, probably about eight of them in the last year.

No coupons will work with this drive for me. Looks like the cheapest price is $60

If you check out the OD coupon thread on chubby wallet, the last page has a reference to a $20 off of $100 coupon code that will work for tech items, like Sim Mike said.

I ordered this drive this morning, and it worked just fine for me! :)

Subtotal: $119.88
Delivery Charge: $0.00
Coupon: $-20.00
Taxes: $8.24
Total: $108.12 (minus two $30 mir's = $48.12)

I also used FatCash for an additional 2.2% off. :)

Now if I only had an OfficeMax here!! :p

For me, the checkout screen said 108 after tax, but the order confirmation screen and email said 130.43. With the $60 in rebates, it's still a good deal, but that $20 still would have been nice...

Thanks OP! Coupon works on tech-item just fine. I believe I'm 800$ in rebates now... :(

Anyone know if you can submit rebates online? Does only Staples do that?

SimMike2:
I did sent them an email complaining that having the order confirmation screen say a different price than the receipt was not cool. I'll have to wait and see how they respond.

If it says $130 before rebate, I think your coupon got kicked somehow. I would go into your account on OD's site, cancel and then reorder with the coupon again. Try clearing your cookies first though.

Excellent... one of my HDs is dying... too bad I couldn't get into the WD deal. But at least the Maxtor has more storage.

Radical. Allright, the coupon code was a little tricky to find but everything checked out. Just as the title of this thread says, $39.98.

According to OD, the first $30 rebate is "USA" branded, but looking at the status web page, the express-group exists in england. Possible problem?
rebate status link

address from web page:
Express Group
Kingsway North
Team Valley Trading Estate

well redundancy sounds good, either manually leaving double copies on separate drives, or raid:) 1yr warrantee is scary. not that 3yr warrantee gets your data back when ur harddrive is hosed anyways.

I have lots of hard drive space in my computer. Two 120s and a 160GB, none of it in raid. I use Norton Systemworks Pro 2003, which has a good version of Ghost where you can create images of your boot drive and store them on another drive. This works with NTFS partitions. It takes a little while, maybe thirty minutes to get this done, but this backup is absolutely rock-solid perfect copy. I usually make one of these before I do something major, or about every week otherwise. This is one reason I like having multiple big drives in my computer.

I also periodically move a new drive into the torture boot drive position, usually before the year warranty is up and move the old drive into one of my friends computers for a fair price.

BTW, the reason I need this much space is video editing.
