If you're going to try to differentiate a fetus from a parasite on the sole basis that it happens to be the same species as its host, then you've tacitly conceded the point. A parasite is as a parasite does, and you've basically stipulated that a fetus does exactly what a parasite does, it just happens to be of the same species as its host.

otherwise, human reproduction doesn't work, and that's all we're really here for. that's kind of the point of sex, which you're completely missing, even if sex doesn't usually result in pregnancy. that's what those fun parts are for. your argument is ignoring basic biology.

The "point" of sex is whatever I want it to be, and whenever you have sex, the "point" is whatever you want it to be. The concept of a objective "purpose of sex" assumes facts not in evidence. Behavior does not equal function, nor purpose.

Nonsense. You're attributing "purpose" to biology that doesn't exist. Biology, like all sciences, describes what things do, but it will never establish what things are "for." For example, it is not the "purpose" of gravity to make people fall off of tall buildings -- that's just what it does. Behavior does not equal function, nor purpose.

I'd just like to say that the comments in this thread are almost as sick as the twisted parents who would kill their own children because they're "not what they wanted." IMO you all have a fucked up sense of morality. "Her body her choice" is the biggest load of bollocks since the South arguing that slavery was necessary for their way of life.

You are absolutely wrong about this.

It IS her body, and it IS her choice. If she chooses to get an abortion for whatever reason, she can get one. Period. You, mister internet forum warrior, have no say in the matter. If you don't like this, go pound some sand or something.
