BRUNSWICK, N.Y. -- A Troy couple ate a rotisserie chicken and drank soda they didn't pay for while shopping at Walmart, state police said.
The pair, 23-year-old Melissa Crandall and 22-year-old Tommy Crandall, took the chicken and soda from Walmart and began eating it inside the store Monday afternoon. They then tried to hide the empty packaging, state police said in a news release.

That's like $9 in stuff. If you're gonna risk a criminal record, and least make it worth it.

I take it you're not watching The Jinx on HBO.

millionaire murderer on the run, with something like 20 grand in his car, steals a sandwich from a supermarket. gets caught

Idiots, the Costco chickens are a much better deal.

The Walmart near me has fried chicken that ranges from decent to excellent depending on... I dunno; it's irregular. A whole bird is $6 I think. Last time I got it there, it was delicious.

My neighbor's wife works for Walmart's Asset Protection, and she says they are not allowed to stop anyone for food theft. People know this and eat all the time while they are shopping and the employees can't do a thing about it.

Costco is $4.99, for 3lb, Walmart was a 2lb last I looked.

People at Costco get cups for water at the food court and they take soda instead, the employees are also not suppose to say anything.

I believe it, because there is an occasional honest person who is consuming the food but plans to pay using the wrapper or opened container.

I've drank a bottle of whatever while shopping and paid with the bottle open or even empty.

So I bet enough guards got in trouble by claiming theft while the perp claimed they were going to pay all along.

Whatever happens in a store, you cannot really call it theft until they pass the registers and try to leave without paying.

Just do a tag along or say you are going to membership, gosh, I gotta teach people everything.

Hey! I might be willing to steal chickens, but I respect the sanctity of the membership process. I'm not an animal.

Besides, with the shit that goes down at Wal-Mart a person eating a free chicken seems like the least objectionable person in the place. They have bigger fish to fry, at the Wal-Mart nearest to me I could butcher and eat an entire cow in aisle 9 and security would still classify that as low priority.

Once got yelled at by the Costco food demo person (an old lady) for politely asking for a second sample (when there was no line). She basically said, "Sure why not get your breakfast, lunch, dinner here as well!" /guess i'm a rebel

I have never had that happen, one time they were doing this kick ass bread, they kept telling me have another piece. I had at least 3 people buy a loaf cause I told them to try this flavor. I deserved commission.

Oh dear. This was predicted.

As soon as a man was allowed to marry another man it opened the floodgates to allow a man to marry a fictional Star Wars character.

Just imagine how hot it must have been to watch that eat a rotisserie chicken.

Sickening. Has anyone ever had one of their chickens? I made the mistake once and it tasted like they left it marinating in the dumpster for a couple of days before. Not kidding, I spit it out immediately upon first bite and then drove back to return it.

fyi...pretty sure it's a liability and/or legal issue, not "oh, let's see if they pay for it." I'm guessing most stores have a rule like that
