Couple part time job interviews coming up. How should I dress?

So I've got a couple interviews coming up. My main question, for both jobs, is should I dress my best, or should I look the part?

Job 1: Musician/performer at a theme park. Interview consists of an audition (15 minutes) and a one-on-one interview. Should I dress very nicely (suit, tie, etc), or should I dress as if I were giving a performance?

Job 2: Repair technician for laser tag equipment. This job is at a laser tag center, not a manufacturer. All their employees wear jeans and a non-tucked in black shirt, have all sorts of crazy facial hair, some tattoos, and some piercings. The interview is mainly a technical discussion to test my knowledge. Should I dress in jeans and a black shirt, or should I dress more professionally?

I usually trim my facial hair and it looks well groomed and sharp. Am I better off with NO facial hair, or an elegant trim?

Thanks 🙂

Performance wear is black slacks, black dress shirt, no tie, black sneakers. Normally it'd be black dress shoes, but my specific instrument is drum set, which is perfectly acceptable (and recommended) to wear athletic shoes.

In that case, since your performance would be affected I would wear Performance wear.

But still wear something like a dress shirt and tie for the other one

Job 1: The funeral outfit that you're suggesting sounds fine... I'd try to pull it off in dress shoes instead of the sneakers.

Job 2: I woulnd't wear jeans. Step it up to slacks and a button-up (short sleeves are fine if you want) or a decent looking polo. If you show up wearing a suit for repairing laser tag stuff, you're not going to fit in. If you show up wearing a tie, they'll probably rule you out.

Good luck.

You're giving a performance in the first one, so dress as you would perform. That's what they're judging you on.

For the second one wear one step up from jeans and a black t-shirt. Slacks and a button-down or polo shirt (something collared). No tie.

Don't go all Hugo Boss on them cause you'll look like an idiot.

meh. I guess I was wrong. I'll look like a fuck-tard going to my interview for an IT position on campus Wednesday in a suit. Or does that call for a suit?

Yes.

Obviously Dress to impress... but for performance ... look the part.

Since you know what the performance wear entails, dress to perform. if you did NOT know what the performance wear entailed, dress to impress.

For the laser tag.... dress to impress.

Depends... Programmer or Developer... yes... suit.
IT Grunt, business casual.

Note: Business casual is slacks and a collared shirt, and shoes.

*NO SNEAKERS*

I was always told, dress to impress.

so was i... but i've learned over the years of actually doing and giving IT Interviews... Business Casual impresses as much as a suit. Hell.. when i did IT interviews... i didnt care if the candidate was in a baithing suit... as long as they knew their shit.

Do not wear black sneakers w/ slacks and a dress shirt. I know people can dress however they want, but I hate seeing someone wear semi nice shirt/pants, and then ruin the look by wearing sneakers, especially black sneakers. I know sneakers are probably more comfortable than dress shoes, but they just look insanely tacky.

If you have long hair, get a hair cut please. (I'm assuming you are a guy)

Dress nice, not the part.

It is better to show up looking over dressed then showing up looking like you don't care (even if you do care). The employer will know you aren't obviously going to work in your suit/dress clothes.

just wear
A nice pair of jeans. black sneakers or some nice shoes.
A tugged in shirt without tie or not tugged in at all. Just dont wear a tie.
U could also wear the jacket from a suit over this. And then u could also wear a tshirt under the jacket.

It wont look too tidy but it will show that ur not a slacker.

This is how i used to go to job interviews. For jobs i didnt have to wear a full suit. I hate to see people overdressing for a job.

Hair is short and well groomed. What should I do with my facial hair? Right now, it's sharp and well groomed. Should I shave clean or stick with it? I look very young as it is (I'm 22, but I look like I'm 17 or 18), but if I completely shave, I look around 16. I won't be taken seriously if I look too young, or so I think.

Don't take advice from a person who does not know the difference between tucked and tugged... wtf😱D:🙄😱

Thank you all for your collective advice so far. I still need advice regarding my facial hair. Please read my previous post.
