Well as of right now im getting a Thermaltake Tsunami, and i had a few questions...

1) how roomy is it?

2) is there a space between the right side panel and the mobo to hide cables and such?

3) are the fans really 21dba?
how much air do they push?

then, before i finalize my case, do any of you have any reccomendations for a better case (besides the P180)?

*note, im getting the Tsunami from newegg for $99, so any other cases you reccomend have to be $100 or less (ive been look at a Raidmax 901XE, but i cant see how its any better then a Tsunami)

Thanks

Did my first build with this case, so I can't really compare, but it's quite roomy. Had zero problems with layout, space. Affirmative on #2. My temps are good too with the stock hsf. So the fans are good, but not the quietest.

I went from a Kingwin 424 to a Tsuami, the Kingwin was waaaay more roomy. My heatsink (TT Beetle)is a fraction of an inch from touching the 80mm fan on the window panel.

the fans are blah, they aren't loud but they're stupid TT fans so they don't work natively with my Coolermaster fan controller. They're not as loud as some people claim, but they ain't silent either. As far as airflow, I dunno but they seem to do a decent job.

1. Roomy is relative: it will fit a 6800gt and four HDD snugly. Doubt a longer vid card would fit with that many HDDs.

2. The is room behind the 5.25 drive bays for cable storage as well as behind and below the HDD drive bays. You can route and creatively store a few cables under the mobo.

3. These fans are much louder than 21db, I'd say around 30-35db but I have no way to measure except to compare with other 120mm fans. They do push a good volume of air.

i put in two tt smart fans with controllers, but the stock ones weren't bad. the smart fans are obviously a better choice for control purposes. my system is actually very quiet when the damn asus chipset fan isn't revin up.

the tt has plenty of room for you if you're not overloading it with cables. routing them seems to be okay inside this case, but it is a very tight fit once it's all filled up.

Its roomy, and loud. There are better choices though. The P160 for about the same price, is a better case. At a higher price look at the Lian-Li, Silverstone, P180, CM Stacker, or Tt Kandalf/Armor.

PS: The power supply it comes with is worthless.

yea, i know to never use a case PSU.

does the p160 have a window?
a window is essential

also, QueBert, what did you mean by
dont work natively with my Coolermaster fan controller
will they not work with fan controllers?

Used this case for my last build - the model with 2 fans and no window. As everyone says, it is roomy - even with 2 opticals, a FDD, 3 HDDs and a pretty big freezer7 HSF in there - plenty of room for managing cables. The fans are ok - large and well located. Have had no problems at all - it's very well made.

I meant the CM fan controller plugs have 3 pings and the fans that come with the case have 2. You can hook them up but can't monitor the rpm's. Which is the reason I got a fan controller in the first place

lol what a big jump. Spending all the money on the components. I was looking to spend 130-200 for a good case and a good PSU not to get off the subject of the OP but im sure this will help him out as well.

TT is a mediocre company with a great marketing department. I have the Tsunami and I dislike it tremendously. I am ordering a P180. Tonight someone from TT will slam me for this post. It always happens.

Thanks

1) plenty of room for your typical gaming machine
2) Yes
3) Absolutely positively NO on the dba's. They do push a good amount of air.
Its a light case thats made fairly well. One major problem with it however is its resonance. If you seek quiet then move on to a steel case or an Al case w/ steel innards. If you are getting/or have a raptor, most definitely DO NOT get the Tsunami. EDIT unless that is you plan on suspending the raptor ;)
