Xmas is right around the corner and I figure I'm going to ask for a pda of some sort. Color preferably, expansion is a must (I like the ability to use pcmica cards... or whatever it is, on the compaq's). Here are the pda's that I've narrowed it down to:

1) Sony Clie peg-760
2) Compaq Ipaq 3835
3) Compaq Ipaq 3635

I have access on a wap at home, so being able to use wireless networking would be a plus (I know you can do it on the compaq's, not sure about the sony's) Even wired networking would be cool. Storing numbers, appointments, all of that good stuff. Maybe there is a better one?? I don't know all the much about pda's so all the help/information you can give me would be awsome! Thanks in advance!

definitely an iPaq, especially since they will be dropping the price on them and the fact that you can do wireless on them.

There was a thread last week about palm vs pocketpc2002, if you do a search you'll find it. Most of it however was a flame-war.

Thats what I'm thinking, it seems there is so much more 'goodies' for the ipaq. Does anyone know about using pc cards with the clie though?

Doesn't the Ipaq sync with your computer?! And when the battery dies you lose all information? Or is that a bug?

if u dont know much about the ipaq, it's gonna be a little frustrating at first. otherwise, it's pretty cool. the syncing station is a little wacked though. the extra bulk from the cf sleeve makes the connection unsecure.

I have an ipaq. I think it's kind of overkill for what I do (read e-books, listen to MP3's, appointments, contacts). If you plan on doing things that require the power of the PocketPc OS, I'd reccommend an ipaq. If all you need is an organizer, I'd say go with the PalmOS.

Oh yeah, if you're going to listen to MP3's, I'd recommend going with the ipaq.

I just got back from my local radio shack. He insisted that I didn't know which compaq ipaq I was talking about, I was talking about the 3635, he said I was talking about a black and white model. Anyway, he told me the price was going to come down 100 bucks on all ipaqs on the 5th, with a 50 dollar rebate, but kept telling me that the 150 dollar rebate was only for the black and white ipaq... is he right?
