It can be tough to tell twins apart, but not for new mom Kylie Hodgson. The difference between her two daughters is black and white.

Hodgson was startled by her twins after she gave birth, according to London's Daily Mail. One, Remee, was fair and blond. The other, Kian, was black. Hodgson and her boyfriend are both biracial. AP

Yes, this did happen a while ago. I remember my bio teacher talking about it in the spring and she explained it. She said skin color is determined by 3 genes and the more dominant alleles someone has the darker they are.

So a father with a medium skin tone such as AaBbCc
and a mother with a medium skin tone such as aAbBcC would offer large variability for their kids.

One child would get AABBCC and be very dark and the other could get aabbcc and be very light.

I thought it was interesting....

Also, in the case I read about in March, 2006 (the story the OP is siting I believe), both of the parents of the twins had biracial parents.

Kind of reminds me of Nip/Tuck where Christian has a kid and finds out that he's black..except this is entirely different.

Obviously fraternal.

Really?

Actually, not all identical twins look especially alike (though it's more common than not.) And it's possible for fraternal twins to be virtually identical, visually.
