Hey guys, just curious, has anyone picked up one of these bad boys and benchmarked it yet?...I would be curious to see how it compares to the 3000+ and how well it overclocks. Also, I know they sell an OEM version for $173 at newegg, but is a retail version with the heatsink and fan ever going to be available?

I'm looking to plunge into the 64 bit market at some point, just trying to find the right place and time :) Thanks!

Everyone (including me) wants to know, but no one has yet to venture in to the budget A64.:) A64 2800 + Nforce 3 250G + DDR500 = should be fun.

The oem always comes out first as AMD wants to make the OEM's happy. Retail should be here in a week or 2 maybe.

But when the next VIA, nivida, sis, etc... chipsets come out that support PCI/AGP lock it should be a winner. Right now it makes a GREAT and cheap way to enter the Athlon64 arena without breaking the bank

some with a 3000+ could always lower the mult to 9x and run it would be the same as a 2800+

Now that the retail is available on this processor, how does it compare? I've yet to find any kind of benches.

I'm deciding whether it's worth it to upgrade over my 2400+ Thoroughbred w/ KT333 chipset right now. I've been looking at the 2800+ A64 due to the cheap cheap price.
