What's even more pathetic is that Democrats wish to give those things for free to everyone except Americans. Take your ballot premarked for a Democrat and you can get your free new American starter pack.

What in the hell are you talking about? How much bullshit do you ingest daily??

In one thread you complain about Dems being for free healthcare, free college etc. and the next you’re claiming they only want those things outside America? Cognitive dissonance much? The only one handing out premarked ballots was that Republican who got arrested for that in NC 9th district.
 
Tucker Carlson had some guy on tonight saying the reason the coup isn't getting results is that the government dis-armed the people. Doesn't he know that a coup is a military takeover and not a civilian takeover?

I said this earlier - He wasn't announcing a Coup IMO. NO ONE with half a brain would ANNOUNCE a GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER action.

That is basically say "Hey guys, be on extra alert and send reinforcements tonight".

I interpreted it as he is calling for a coup to occur - not that they have one planned.

From what I understand, Venezuela has a Militia of over 1 million citizens. I suspect they are Armed, but maybe not.

The country is so broken the opposition can't successfully execute a coup nor can the incumbent government put down that coup. It's like watching two emaciated famine victims trying to kickbox each other but without the strength to lift their arm to hit the other guy.

Maduro has been afraid of international (US) backlash if he arrests Guaido. That's the only thing allowing this circus to continue. It's quite clear that Guaido does not have the support of the military or the people. Guaido has behaved like such a clown though, that Maduro might now feel confident that he can arrest him without outside (US) interests interfering.

It’s sad to see a formerly decent country descend into destitution and dictatorship. I suspect things there will get worse before they get better.

Guaido is a weak figurehead for widely felt discontent, so arresting him won't really make Maduro's position any less tenuous. The real threat to Maduro's rule is the abysmal performance of his own government and without the useful foil of Guaido to blame there's no place for Maduro to hide. Sure he can play the "U.S. imperialists are plotting against us" but that's a weak card to throw at this point when his people lack basic food and medicines.

LMAO, great revisionism. Guaido was practically unheard of before he declared himself president in January. The people understand that Guaido is just a US puppet.

I would like to see nations of the Americas get together in council and decide the fate of a sick and failing nation. To come up with solutions and act towards the best, or at least the most agreeable, one. Even if that is military invasion, at least it would have been decided together with our role being supportive rather than unilateral.

In short, the United States needs to step back and let Venezuela's neighbors have a large role to play in this. Granted, I don't think they'd go for military intervention. But there are ways to picture an economic restoration negotiated with the existing government. And ways to pressure / force them to tow the line short of large scale violence.

We have great power. Rarely do we wield it properly.

The answer is absurdly simple: lift the sanctions. Until the US does that, it's a major contributing factor to the problems there.

He's a U.S. puppet who is still the de facto figurehead for general discontent to the Maduro regime. You're correct he's just a guy and someone else could easily fill the same role but for now he's an easy personification of the "enemy" for Maduro. No one (especially me) is saying he's been the face of the resistance for decades like Nelson Mandela or something, but he's the only person so far that's publicly tried to present himself as a credible replacement for Maduro.
