(CNN) -- Democrat Christine Gregoire finished 130 votes ahead in the roller-coaster Washington governor's race after results of a hand recount including disputed ballots were released Thursday by King County.

After the third count and the election went ther way, the democrats no longer want a recount to make sure every votes are counted. Many republicans asserted that their votes were not counted but the democrats said that they will no longer count any more votes.

1st count, Rossi won.
2nd count, Rossi won.
3rd count, democrats won.

End of vote counting.

There should be a run off.

Whoever winds up sitting in the Governor's chair must have a MANDATE!!!!
And political capital to spend!

The Shifting Standards Of Christine Gregoire
When she was 261 votes behind Rossi after the first count, Gregoire called the race a virtual tie. At 42 votes back after the first recount, she said it was, in fact, a tie. Now, she said, "It's time for this race and this election to be over."

...The Democrats have managed to recount their way to victory, using the standard-bending and vote-mining methods they tried in Florida until the grown-ups made them stop. Perhaps this episode will wake Washington voters to the fraud of Democratic politics. As one CQ commenter noted earlier, thank goodness the Electoral College acts to contain such shenanigans.

I am guessing Rossi's standards shifted in the opposite manner.

LOL, I love that spin. Found, VALID votes (valid in the eyes of the Republican SoS) are not supposed to be counted. If the Republicans want another recount, fine, they can pony up $750k and do one.

When the decision to attempt to stop the recounting was pushed into the Washington State Supreme Court by the Republican Party -
who was leading at the time, and it came before the judge for the hearing, the Republicans presented that with 2 'Machine Recounts'
they were in the lead and should be declared to be the winning party.

The Judge listened to the arguments and said "You are looking at the election as being either a winner or a loser in a vote.
Shouldn't we be looking at what the voters themselves voted for ?"
All the votes were allowed to be counted, those which had been 'Misplaced, and those which had been seclectively withheld by some precincts.
If the voters intent was registered, that vote counted.

Odd how the first 'winning margin' was reduced by hundreds in the 'Machine-Recount', which placed it into
the relm of requieing a 'Hand-Count. Even stranger is that the Hand-Count eliminated the 'Machine Tabulated' lead,
and was found to have been wrong in both prior 'Electronic Tabulations'.

Once ALL the votes were in, the Democrats lead became even higer, regardless of how many times the Republicans had attempted to manouver the counts and re-counts.

My opinion is that the parties themselves should stay the hell out of the results until those results are in.

It's all about the votes by the voters being counted, not one or the other party trying to have thier way.
