But the ban was an attempt to turn legal border crossing into illegal border crossing.

Doesn't matter if the ban gets reimposed or not. Whatever propaganda hits Trump wanted to get out of this, he's already gotten. He's learned the lessons that Putin used/uses to keep in power and he's playing out that script so well it might even garner Trump the Putin Seal of Approval. The more resistance Trump's travel ban scheme encounters, the more effective it is in regards to what Trump really wants to get out of it.

It seems to me that if one desired to grasp whatever scheme Trump uses/will use to get his way, all one has to do is overlay his style of play on the one that the guy he has a bromance with uses.

Well, Putin would just kill the judge in question, though in fairness that's pretty much what the conservatives here more or less want anyway.
 
I wonder what our nation's Christian Fundamentalists think about this travel ban as it also restricts the influx of opposing religious influences, and now that they also see Trump as their best hope for forcing their Christian religious beliefs on the rest of America.

All this pain and suffering so that Trump can positively ensure his grip on the folks who put him in office (yes, we all know who you are), and oh yeah, another term in four years.

Trump wants the ban and if it is struck down then he's not going to care about propaganda. He's not some master schemer, he's a malignant narcissist grasping for The One Ring and will be as nonchalant about this as Gollum. He want's his Precious.

But not matter? Well it does when people's lives are involved independent of Trump's ego.

An interesting point and one that I tend to agree with in the sense that there is that side of him that gives credence to your thoughts, but the resistance to his ban is not only satisfying his inflated ego and moves the conflict into a game that he controls, it also benefits his agenda in that it creates a win/win scenario for him due to his supporters tending to close ranks behind him ever tighter whenever they see more resistance to his desires. He's been using this shtick since the day he announced his candidacy.

Also agree with this in and of itself, but in my post I was, in a clumsy assumptive way, specifically alluding to it "not mattering to Trump". 🙂

The unrighteous are claiming to be righteous.

What is right is wrong and what is wrong is right. This is our world now.

It is strange how people who claim this country is theirs came here from somewhere else. Of course, they murdered the Native people and claim this land is now theirs. But still, they are not the Native people of this land.

But since they have the power, I guess they can do whatever they want.
 
As a reminder if appealed to SCOTUS it would require a 5-3 ruling to overturn the stay. 4-4 tie will uphold the lower courts stay of the ban.
