So much of the popular "country" of the last ten years has been crossover rock, and vice versa.
I can listen to it all, so long as it does not have idiotic lyrics about tequila and clothes falling off.😛

:music:Tequila makes her clothes fall off! :music:

yeah that one is kinda annoying

edit: oh yeah. you are right that some country is more like 80's-90s rock. heck listen to Mongomery Gentry and such

Tequila makes her clothes fall off started playing on my list right as I was reading this post.

That said, I like most country. Most of the newer stuff is a lot like rock with some twang. I like the more upbeat stuff. I always answer posts about country music too...

I like all of the following artists... Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Josh Turner, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Billy Currington, Bomshel, Sugarland, Brad Paisley, Chris Cagle, Craig Morgan, Diamond Rio, Eric Church, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Gary Allan, George Strait, Gretchen Wilson, Jack Ingram, Jake Owen, Jamie O'Neal, Jason Aldean, JoDee Messina, Joe Nichols, Keith Anderson, Keith Urban, LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, Lonestar, Martina McBride, Miranda Lambert, Montgomer Gentry, Neal McCoy, Pat Green, Phil Vasser, Rascal Flatts, Rockie Lynne, Rodney Atkins, Ronnie Milsap, Sara Evans, Shania Twain, SheDaisy, Sherrie Austin, Steve Holy, Terri Clark, Toby Keith, Trace Adkins, Travis Tritt, Trisha Yearwood, Dixie Chicks.

Those artists were just from my playlist so I like at least something that each of them does. Country music FTW.

I ADORE Mark Chesnutt,

I have adored him since 1994.

I also really like Travis Tritt and Toby Keith. I have about 350 C&W songs on my music drive and about three dozen CDs.

I like a small amount of country music. Most of it is pop music with a twang, but it beats the pants off music that is violent and agressive.

Country goes through phases. I hate that lubby-dubby crap. Right now it seems to be getting better. I really liked the country from the early to mid-90's.

Here is some maybe different stuff for you:
Robert Earl Keen
James McMurtry
Ray Wylie Hubbard
Dwight Yoakam

This links to my favorite radio station where you might find non mainstream country music that you can listen to.

The Warren Brothers - Sell a Lot of Beer
Toby Keith - Get Drunk and Be Somebody
Scott Miller - 8 Miles a Gallon
Roger Creager - Love
Kevin Fowler - i love all of his music
Jason Boland - some of his stuff is pretty good
Chris Ledoux
