We went to the Keith Urban concert last Thursday with Pat Green (God awful) opening. I have to say, Urban has some chops. Great concert (coming from a guy who has seen a lot of live acts, rock and otherwise).

His riffs were very clean (although maybe a little too safe), vocals were incredible, and the backing band was out of this world. It was definitely better than I thought it would be.

Snapped a few pics with the A520, but here is one for you to look at McGyver.

Yeah, Pate Green sucks really bad.

He only has one good song, Baby Doll or something like that.

I'm not a huge Keith Urban fan, but I really like the song "Tonight I Wanna Cry"

I'm not into country, per se. I do like the rare country tune if it has a rock flavor to it.

And is Neil Young considered country at all? I like a lot of his music, as well as some old Skynyrd, Marshal Tucker, Molly Hatchet, etc. Where do they fall in?

Awesome, so should I just listen to Yellowcard while I decide whether or not I'm going to kill myself? Or listen to Kanye rap about how important he is? Or should I go clubbing and listen to Fergie from BEP "rap-talk" about her humps?

My point is if you like the music, listen to it. I like some country. I also like NaS, Coldplay, Pat Metheny, The Shins, Led Zepellin, Tegan & Sara and about 1000 more acts.

If there were simultaneous "rock fans unite!," "rap fans unite!," "folk fans unite!," "pop fans unite!" and "jazz fans unite!" threads, I wouldn't have enough time to post in all of them, but I would want to 🙂.

Yes it is, and country has evolved heavily in the last 20 or so years.

BTW, was it really necessary to insert two thread craps within 5 posts?

Well said, I have many thousands of songs. Probably 25% of them are country, the rest is all rock, rap, and classic rock.

I am not solely into country music, but I like it more than any other genre.

Neil Young is rock/folk/and a little southern rock as are the other listed bands.

My musical tastes vary with my mood but have never really liked traditional country but I can listen to bluegrass all day long. Usually I go between gansta rap and Led Zeppelin.

Some of the current country production quality is top notch.

I don't mind listening to Country as mindless music at work, or when I'm getting loaded in some cheap bar.

Country rock though, I like.
Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, Wilco. Stuff like that.

Bahahah, where are you people when the Rap threads come up. YA I KNOW RAILIN ON RAP LIKE TROLLS DO.

Oh and the Band? And the Eagles? Thats rock baby. Straight up Easy Rider revolutionary rock.

QFT.

Country sucks.

Have you ever actually listened to it?

Yes I have and its the same and its always the same.

About a girl, a car, shoes etc.

Never anything important hold on to it as long as you want to. I guess you find some cultural identity with it. But modern America has nothing to do with it buddy.

Country songs talk about things more relevant to my life than hip hop and a lot of other genres. I used to listen to a lot of hip-hop and alternative. I still like some of that but I mostly listen to country now. In fact, the media button on my keyboard launches a playlist with a 100+ country songs. Lately I like Get Drunk and Be Somebody and Livin in Fast Forward quite a bit.

My list has artists like Alabama, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts, Gretchen Wilson, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Diamond Rio, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins, Josh Gracin, George Straight, Garth Brooks, Direks Bentley, Keith Urban, Joe Nichols, Alan Jackson, Terri Clark, Faith Hill, John Michael Montgomery, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Jason Aldean and a few others. They are all pretty good.

Favorites are: Toby Keith,

You have no idea what you are talking about. That may have been true for older country music, but it has evolved heavily in the past years.

Take your foot out of your ass and stop being so ignorant.
