Cheats, that's what i'm talking about, it seems that in every server you go now there's a large number of players with cheats and it's increasing. Aimbot cheat, skin cheat, lag cheat, Win2K cheat, seethrough cheat, phone or roger wilco cheat, name em there all there for the picking. Why not just have a cheat that when you press B everyone dies that way we could have a game every 4 seconds. Let's all stop being hypocrites and admit that cheats are everywhere and rampant in CS and it's not only a mere few that have it, I would estimate it as high as %50 and growing. This game is based on strategy, ambush and surprise attacks, if you take that out you have NO GAME. Those of you who have no skill or balls to play this game without cheats are lame nolife coward thugs. For Goosman, Valve and WON to allow this to continue is unacceptable and I wish that they would put some pants on take some decisions about this. But as long they are able to $ell this lame defective product and steel money from unsuspecting gullable consumers they won't do a damm thing about it.

Agreed. I would applaud the person that really digs into the question, Do game developers leave holes for cheating on purpose?

I think they do. Cheating gets just about every avid, fair gamer into a raging mess. I myself have smashed three keyboards, all related to gaming and losing to a cheater. Albeit, cheating is grouds for "Eye for an Eye" revenge. Personally I enjoy the One Knife slash and your dead cheat. You don't even have to be near the enemy. Just slash the knife, and poof, your enemy is dead.

Exploiting a game with cheats keep gamer interest. It makes you want to come back and take revenge. Simply giving up and traveling to another server will not suffice; chances are there is cheating in the next server as well. So we come back.

It will never end. Do what I do and learn to deal with it. Exploit the cheater. Damage their self esteem. Badger them enough and they will go outside and see the sun.

I wholeheartedly agree, exploitations and cheats in a game are a cheap and pitiful way to play. That's why i almost never play any online game unless it's on a secure server that's 100% impervious to cheats. I play EQ because they've done an EXCELLENT job at curbing exploitations. AC on the other hand, is a different matter.

Nothing frustates me more than playing with somebody that cheats.

Im with ya man (although i dont consider R/Wilco to be a cheat, is there something i dont know about it?). I cant understand how anyone can enjoy winning by cheating, but i guess there is a pretty big lamer community out there.

What they should do is make a "cheat" for the server that highlights cheaters in big lights or bright colours! And attracts all stray rounds to the cheaters..lol
I remember when I first started playing CS ages ago, I just got blown away constantly by guys that had expensive guns from round one. It never occurred to me that they were cheating!
Now that I've built up a reasonable level of skill I've really been amazed at the difficulty of some games now...in the past I was very consistent in my gameplay now sometimes I come off with a kill to death ratio of 1:3 as oppossed to the more regular 3:2 or even 3:1
People regulary come round a corner and headshot me with amazing accuracy - I'd like to believe they were not cheating but seeing my own team-members changing skins as they run to the first contact doesn't help 🙁

By RoderWilco I mean that once your dead, you should not be able to to into free view mode. You should only be able to be in camera mode where you follow your own living teammates only.

IMO, it should not be considered a cheat but should be encouraged instead... take dust for instance, telling where people are don't really have any impact on a well played round cuz it would go so fast anyway; the only time it would mean anything is when those cheap skillless bastards camp at their spawning spots or dark areas behind the boxes. i would rather have a cheater to take the annoying campers out then wait forever dead or alive.

edit: by no means i am saying cheating should be allowed, i am just saying camping is MUCH more prone to spoil the fun and ruin the game.

Hm. I don't see too many cheaters on the local servers.

There are also wildly inaccurate rumors about cheats. There is neither a headshot script or an aim bot. The first people to join a game in its first round get a money bonus, they aren't cheating (that's what I heard from various sources).
And also, no, developers of multiplayer games don't leave exploits on purpose, and if they do, they are deactivated by default (sv_cheats 0).

I don't really know what you mean by Win2000 cheat ... I am running Win2000, does that mean I am cheating?

Talking to an alive team member when flying around as a ghost on the other side, sucks IMO. Of course it makes it easier to take out campers. But it doesn't only make long-time camping (eg basecamping) pointless, it also defeats the use of ambushing an enemy when you know he is coming around the corner, or sneaking after him when you see him. It pretty much kills everything non-deathmatch in the game.

actually, thats the worst kind of camping in my book... dishonorable blind-spot camping... i could tolerate people camping with their awps at the well known spots cuz then you could use SKILL to take them out; however, if they choose to be so sneaky, there is nothing you can do cuz your body is so fragile in CS (which kinda sux IMO)

i could confirm you first round money is definitely NOT a cheat. sometimes people would clump up on a single team and the round would end with their win without other team even being formed 🙁

edit: also agreed about people being too quick to accuse others of camping... many of them who yell out head shot scripts refuse to jump around or burst with rifles... go figure 😕

yeap the skin cheat draws a big red circle around you and draws a line from your weapons line of sight, so the others know exactly where you are and where your aiming.

Ahhh, ok i can see how that use of Roger Wilco is cheating. On our local UT server our admin put on a moderator to catch cheats, and then published their names on a forum. Because nobody knew he was doing this, he caught a number of players cheating under their clan names. This included a couple of well respected players.
