Counterstrike locking up on me after a while of playing

After 40 mins or so playing counterstrike, it's been locking up on me. I haven't had this problem before. I'm overclocked at 2.3 ghz, i tried to take it back to stock speed and it still locked up on me. My video card isn't overclocked at all, and is being cooled by a VGA silencer 3. My ram and temps are also fine. What else should i check out?

How about your Event Viewer, does it have any events that would correspond to the time of lockups? Is it just CS locking up, or Windows itself?

Longer shots: 1) what power supply, and 2) what's your system's security looking like, do you have SP2, firewall and antivirus?

Not sure if i have event viewer on.

My whole computer locks up, so it's probably not a problem with the game.

I have an Enermax noisetaker 420w, it's pretty new. I have good security. I do have SP2, a firewall, and an antivirus. I've played without lockups with this stuff before though.

Try Control Panel > (Performance & Maintenance) > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and there's different categories in there.

I think it's the vid card, it's been booting up with scrambled graphics lately. It's not even overclocked and it has an Arctic Cooler VGA silencer 3 on there. I guess hardware just doesn't like me =/

I've been having the same problem with my cs:source.

game freezes, and must reboot. i think it is the video card or ATI Smart
