counterstrike help?

I just bought half life goty edion and I downloaded and installed counterstrike (100 meg file) Whenever I launch counterstrike I get a "could not load a file called something like library.dll error. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

try re-installing half-life and counterstrike, and then update them both to the latest edition. 1.0.0.3 for Cs and i frogot the number for half-life...

no reason why it shouldn't work on the fresh install. Did you download the FULL CS or did you download the "upgrade from 1.0.0.2 to 1.0.0.3" file?

you are missing the half life update.
You have to install halflife, download and install the halflife update, and then download and install cs.
That will fix it.

You can update HL but clicking "UPDATE HL" in the config menu I think, but it would be faster to just download the file somewhere else.

I think it is called like halflife update1.08 or something. And make sure you have cs1.3 non retail, full version.
