I've been playing it for a few years now. Right now...it's not the game itself which is addictive. Sure, you play the game, but where I play, it's the people that play there, the community which is addictive. You get to know people there, a real friendly atmosphere. Sure there are jerks there too, but lots of friendly folk. Yes, I've been accused of cheating too. Funny thing is, I'm playing under a different name then the one I use normally and some of my clanmates actually accused me of cheating. I was just LOL at that point.

Now, if only the server I played at could have a little more variety in it....it sucks to play dust2, dust, aztec, dust dust2, etc all the time. curse admin_vote_map.

i still play it about every day, but within the last few weeks, its kinda died off and Wolfenstein Enemy Territory has taken its place for me

I know what you mean, I finally found a server I liked again and got banned for cheating, I didn't even have the best record, I just hs'd an admin. I have played on and off since '99-2k, I think beta3 was when I joined up, fun game, it isn't installed atm, but I will probably put it back on there in the near future.

and a game, such as ut 2003, isn't? it has maybe 500 servers, not even

It's fun, but not addictive, it is more deathmatch style than cs, in cs you have objectives (I know capture the flag etc, but not really the same) in deathmatch a few people are godlike, you can't kill them, it just isn't fun when these people come flying around corners and you are dead before you even hear their gun go off.

Counter Strike/HL/HL mod style games have the largest online player base, bigger than any other online game in existance. And it's been out for that long.
