Counter-Strike - Wrong Protocol...please help!!!

Whenever I try to connect to a server to play HL-CS, it says:

This server is using a newer protocol (43) than your client (45)....

and I can't connect.
What does this mean? How do I fix it.

Most likely that the server has a newer version than your client.
Try updating your version of counter-strike.
What is it now? 1.3? I think so.

There are still some 1.0 CS servers out there, so you could try those.

Yeah, just make sure you have the latest version of CounterStrike from counter-strike.net.
