Counter Strike ... Why oh Why

The game crashes whenever I try to minimize it. I need to change some control setting and I can't because of this.

I have reinstalled, twice, my vid card is plenty good with newest drivers ... I'm lost.

Also, it crashes upon exit too.

minimize? not exactly sure what u mean by that... one thing i gotta let u know tho, is the fact that CS is not an alt+tab friendl game.

yeah that's what I ment. Alt+Tab. Okay I will stop doing that. But why does it crash when going from the actual game into the config? (ESC)

hmmm... now thats odd... some of the game files corrupt maybe? irq conflicts?

Probably won't help you with you Nvidia, however HL used to crash when I alt-tabbed, using the standard 3dfx mini GL drivers. Now that I use the WickedGL drivers, it works fine most times.

Mine always just quits when I alt-tab. It did when using 3dfx drivers and still does when I use WickedGL drivers. I'll have to see if it does with my radeon when I get it.

Whenever i try to alt tab- i Lose all sound, it's a real pain

Ahh, that happens to me and a friend of mine, ALT + TAB will just crash the system, I can minimize though

HL wasn't meant to be Alt+Tab'ed. I lose all sound when I do it.

Yea, you lose all sound when you alt tab. Just hit esc, then return to the game and it'll fix it. Least thats what it does on my system.

If it doesn't like alt-tab, why does it run in Windows...that seems stupid.
