are you cheating?
that'd certainly explain you getting booted.
certain servers require you to have cheat-death or csguard installed and running while on their servers.
if you are trying to use those servers, you gotta follow the rules.
if you don't like that... look for a server that doesn't require such anticheat measurement.

i think u should try running Cheating Death and minimise it before u run CS

LOL let's face it NEITHER the counter-strike team NOR Valve have any desire to make a cheat free version. for both of them they are ONLY interested in your MONEY no matter how they get it and even if once you buy the game it's unplayable. I'm sad to say but the truth is that they relie on the most GULLABLE IDIOT to buy the game and that's it. As for them putting out a cheat free version they had their chance when Punkbuster offered it to them and they blew it because they wanted ALL the money for themselves, greedy bastards. Now RTCW has it built in to the engine which is what Valve should have done in the first place. As for Valve and CS they can bite me. [/rant]

I think we all know that the cheaters have overrun cs. Now can't we all just let it die peacefully?

Counter-Strike can be somewhat crappy online...depends on if there are server ops in there all the time or not and if they are up-to-date with the latest anti-cheat software. They can run commands to examine their accuracy and if it's EXTREMELY high, then the player could be cheating and are thus followed in the game for any suspicious acts.
CS rocks when you play it at a big LAN party. If anyone cheats, you simply walk over to where they're sitting and beat the living crap out of them. 😉 😛 J/K Whenever someone cheats at my LAN parties, I simply send their arse home and are never invited over to play. Period.
This particular game definitely goes down in the record books, along with StarCraft, Solitaire, and the many other great games that were produced. Truely, it's a one of a kind.

alright the opengl fix did it for me... it fixed the overflow problem that i was getting in half life

as for the cheating concern, there will always be cheating in CS, but at the lan parties there are always some extremely good people that you would think are cheating if you were playing them over the net, but they are not. This brings in the fact that cheaters ruins the game for everyone. They do. Period. CS will never be cheat-free, and RTCW is NOT cheat free either. (there's this grenade cheat, if you look online you'll find it) The promise to end cheating came with CS 1.3 also, if anyone remembers. They promised to address "cheating issues" and they did a good job of making most aimbots and the speedcheat worthless. There are always going to be newer cheats, and because people suck at the game they just want to cheat to satisfy their egos. CS guard is doing a good job of stamping out a lot of cheats, and lets leave it at that.

Well, for what its worth, 1.4 is supposed to have anti cheat built in. When 1.4 first came out, I saw people using cheats in it (I asked, they admitted). I havent played much 1.4 lately (Back to UT) but when I have played, I havent seen any cheats being used. I'll keep playin and hope that 1.4 really is cheat free....for the time being anyways
