I have heard much about this game, being a long time Battlefield player and recently disappointed with BF4 and being bored with BF3 i was hoping this game could fill that void for something new.:)

Buddy has loaned me his steam account to try out this game, first impressions are on native resolution enemies are often very small to see, would lowering the resolution help with this issue?

Besides barely seeing enemies at a distance, i haven't dared played online yet with 10 year vets online i am sure ready to pound my butt to a pulp but hoping for tips, hints and suggestions on what to expect.:)

Tips, mods and suggestions are greatly welcome.:)

Skip CS:Source - it's almost 10 years old.

CS:Global Offensive, released in 2012, is its successor. Play deathmatch to learn the maps, guns, etc. before moving on to competitive modes.

CS:GO is a very buggy & poorly coded game. The aim down sights NEVER works, when you take cover your health takes FOREVER to regen, kill streaks have been broken forever, no gun customization, prone is broken and the maps are 10 years old. Pretty much a garbage game, which is why it's so unpopular. Are there still servers for it?

Um, CS:GO has never had any of that. Sounds like you're describing COD.

source is better than GO, but GO is the game to play now

just start playing, watch other players, turn down your dpi, and learn to call stuff out - it's easy to learn

I don't know about any of that but I agree that CS:GO is a pos game.

CS:S is my game of choice, it just feels much more responsive than GO. As far as increasing your skill level, the only way to do it is through practice. After hours and hours of practice, you might start getting better.

I would grab cs:s and gmod as those alone will keep you happy with all the various mods they have as honestly I can't recall I played a normal round of CS compared to the mods they bring.
