1) Is CS: Source free when you purchase the retail HL2 at say, Best Buy? I'm old school and want to have the CD, CD key etc, as opposed to just downloading it from Steam.

2) Is CS:Source to HL2 as the original CS was to HL.

3) Is it really that much better than the original CS?? I'm not a hardcore gamer, I like to play occasionally and CS has been my all time favorite online FPS game. Will it really just blow me away or will I feel like I wasted another 50 dollars on just another game??

1. Yes (its included in the package)
2. Yes
3. No, its pretty and has better physics but the gameplay is still based on the same flawed basis. It is basically the same game with fewer maps that has been ported to the HL2 engine. You still die and watch your friends have fun while you cant do anything waiting for the round to end, much like hell is going to be.........

1-Yes
2-Not sure what you mean by that. CS was a mod for HL, whereas CS:s is the (only, as of now) official multiplayer portion of HL2.
3-It's not that much more, but it definetly injects new life into the game. If you're buying HL2 just for CS:s, though, 1-I don't think you should be doing so and 2-OMGWTF??

1 - Yes
2 - sure? it's the half life multiplayer (there is no regular half life multiplayer i believe)
3 - If you mean is this a leap from pong to half life, no. But it is better, looks nice, and makes you go "wow". But it's not the greatest thing to happen to CS since the terrorists joined the game.
